The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority has counted a disheartening number of individuals on the streets – about 58,000 in 2017, marking a 23 percent increase compared with the year before. An astonishing video, featuring thousands of homeless people on the streets of Los Angeles, appeared on the web over Christmas. The number of people in the 50-block district Skid Row has risen to an estimated 20,000, with the majority of them having erected tents to have a shelter for the night.
